Hello, all!
A little bit about me:
Hi there! I’m Kaitlyn. Thank you so much for stopping by. A little bit about me, I was born and raised in Sacramento, California, where I grew up roaming the Sierras, Central Valley and the rugged coast, always with a camera in hand. I loved every second of my fort-building, tree-climbing tomboy childhood and developed a deep love for nature and outdoor adventures.
I met Jesus when I was about seven years old, and since then I’ve grown deeper in my decipleship with Him. He’s taught me a lot, and one of the most profound lessons I’ve learned is how a personal relationship with nature can teach us so much about many facets of life and spirituality. I want to use my faith and skills in communication and environmental science to connect others to nature, because I’ve experience the benefits of an active relationship with the natural world and I want others to experience those benefits through making their own unique connections with nature!
I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Environmental Studies and Photojournalism. Throughout my education as well as my personal life, I’ve explored merging my interest in the natural world with my passions for communication and storytelling. Through these experiences, and after living abroad in Japan for a year putting my interests into action through a YouTube channel and social media, I’ve really developed a passion for outdoor education for women. I want everyone to connect with nature! But there can be some unique barriers for women when it comes to exploring the wild, and I want to come alongside my fellow gals and encourage and equip YOU for a life of outdoor exploration!
So, whether you’re spiritual or not, outdoorsy or just starting to think about maybe going for your first hike, I’m here for YOU, to offer practical, raw encouragement for an outdoorsy life!
A little bit about this site:
This site is a little bit of everything and a “lot-a-bit” of ME in every post! This is a place where I share my journey as I stumble, jump, fall, skip and stroll through life. I sincerely hope the stories I share here will touch your heart and make you feel SEEN and HEARD. This is deeply important to me: to tell honest, relatable and meaningful stories. I hope you find connection, joy and comfort here. Welcome, and thank you for being here!
